2015 Lincoln MKZ design
The signature front grille is front and centre, with a flowing sedan design based around it. A rounded front end, angled hood, raked windshield, curved roof and tidy rear end makes for a great looking package. The rising beltline with fluting makes for a great profile too.
The inside of the 2015 Lincoln MKZ is just as modern. There's a lot of space inside for a midsize, with plenty of passenger room, decent cargo space and a great looking dashboard. The center stack is well stocked, the driving position comfortable and commanding and the optional voice activated controls are just what the modern driver demands.
Engine and transmission
There are three engines available for the 2015 Lincoln MKZ, a V6, four cylinder and a hybrid. The 3.7-litre V6 delivers 300 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque. The 2.0-litre EcoBoost delivers 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque and the hybrid delivers 188 hp from a 2.0-litre engine and a 70 Kw motor.
The gasoline engines use a six speed automatic transmission to send power to the front. All-wheel drive is an option. The hybrid uses a CVT transmission.
The 2015 Lincoln MKZ has four trim levels, Premier, Select, Reserve and Preferred. The MKX Premier offers 18 inch alloy wheels, leather interior, heated front seats, wood trim, adaptive LED lighting, climate control, remote ignition and 11-speaker CD audio with SYN and MyLincoln Touch.
The Select trim adds reversing camera, rear parking sensor, more wood trim, electric exterior mirrors and ambient interior lighting. The Reserve adds navigation, upgraded leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, blind sport monitoring, cross traffic alert and a power trunk.
The range-topping MXZ Preferred adds 19 inch alloy wheels, heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, premium mats, sunroof or panoramic roof and a 14-speaker THX-certified audio system.
2015 Lincoln MKZ summary
The 2015 Lincoln MKZ is built on solid ground as it's based on the very good Ford Fusion. With the signature Lincoln design and flourishes, it's definitely its own beast. With a great ride that's comfortable and not floaty, decent engines with plenty of power and sensible gas mileage and of course, that hybrid option, this is a car for all people.
