2015 Ford Mustang Review
Located at Northway Ford Brantford in Brant County (between Cambridge & Hamilton)
The 2015 Ford Mustang is the benchmark for the working man's muscle car. Not only has it been 50 years in the making, it's also bringing back the four-cylinder engine. The new model also has a new look, new motor, new suspension and lots of new kit for drivers to enjoy.
The Mustang is now wider and lower, adding to its aggressive looks. This was partly to improve road handling and partly to accommodate the new suspension. The Mustang has finally joined the 21st century with Macpherson struts at the front and independent integral-link suspension at the rear. This should improve handling and road manners in a huge way!
This may horrify Mustang purists, but we say try it before you knock it. This is an all-new platform, designed specifically for the Mustang. It is designed to ride better, corner better and stop better, as well as improve the ride across the board.
The rest of the exterior look is all Mustang. It's aggressive, has that wide grille at the front with pony front and center. It also has the signature long hood, a lower roofline, flared wheel arches and that sinuous slope down to the rear end. It's a fantastic looking car!
The 2015 Ford Mustang also benefits from an improved interior. The materials are nicer, the switches more usable and the entire cabin has an aero-inspired theme to it. There also seems to be more room inside too, which is always welcome.
The driving position is relaxed but commanding. The instrument cluster is clear, center stack full of stuff, but is easy to manage, with everything being in its place and easy to reach. The Mustang will benefit from MyFord Touch, SYNC, blind spot warning and cross traffic alerts among other new tech.
What matters most in a Mustang is what's under the hood and the 2015 Ford Mustang doesn't disappoint. There are three engine options. The 5.0-liter V8 that delivers 420 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque, a 3.7-liter V6 with 300 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque and a 2.3-liter EcoBoost that delivers 305 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque.
Ford expects the EcoBoost motor to be the most popular this year, certainly among European and Canadian buyers. Being able to deliver more power than the V6 while also providing more torque and better gas mileage is certainly appealing. We'll wait for a test drive before making our final judgement.
If the 2015 Ford Mustang looks like your kind of car, keep an eye on Northway Ford Lincoln!
