The 2015 Ford Fusion is a continuation of Ford's dominance of the great value sedan market. Introduced in 2013, the new Fusion changed the game altogether, bringing more European-inspired designs and performance to North America and giving us a car that really does stand out from the crowd.
The design is undoubtedly a great one. It's sleek, aerodynamic and looks far more expensive than it is. Based on the old Mondeo platform from Europe, it's a solid offering in the family sedan market that has been selling exceptionally well. With German rivals offering comfort and luxury, Ford had to up their game to stay relevant, the Fusion proves they did far more than that.
The design is sleek, with a low profile, stunning looks and a mature stance. The big front end is signature Ford. As are the angled lights, big grille and lower facia. Fluted sides, slightly flared wheel arches and a sloped roof all offer that air of quality and performance. With an interesting back end and integrated exhaust tips poking out the bodywork, it really is a classy car.
Inside is much the same. Ford is now synonymous with quality interiors and the Fusion exhibits the best of them. The unfussy, slick design is all class. It's uncluttered, full of soft touch materials, is well put together and offers an excellent place to spend time. The dashboard is simple and logical, the center stack can be buttonless and the dials and LCD screen are well considered and clear to see.
Passenger room and comfort is also high. There is a lot of head and legroom inside the 2015 Ford Fusion, with plenty of cubbies and stowage too. Surprisingly, the sloped roof doesn't take much headroom away either. Add in 16 cu.ft. of trunk space and you have a real contender for the do-it-all car.
Under the hood is a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine good for 178 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque, or a 2.5-liter that delivers 175 hp and 170 lb-ft, a 1.6-liter Ecoboost with 178 hp and 184 lb-ft, or a 2.0-liter EcoBoost that gives 250 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. All engines use a six-speed automatic transmission to send power to the front wheels. All-wheel drive is an option on the Fusion.
The 2015 Ford Fusion is available in three trims, S, SE and Titanium. The S offers the 2.5-liter engine, 16 inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, reversing camera, power accessories, cruise control, auto lighting, remote keyless entry and Ford SYNC.
The SE adds 17 inch alloys, the option for the EcoBoost engines, power front seats, upgraded audio with SIRIUS, center folding arm rests and body colored exterior trim elements.
The range-topping Fusion Titanium comes with the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and adds leather interior, heated seats, MyFord Touch, Sony audio, tuned suspension, keyless ignition and entry, remote start, sports front seats and lots of optional extras.
The 2015 Ford Fusion is an excellent car that is still way ahead of the competition. You get a solid performer and an excellent car for the price and most people who try one loves it.
