2016 FORD C-MAX | BRANTFORD
The 2016 Ford C-MAX is not your ordinary multi-purpose vehicle. It's an eco-friendly hybrid vehicle that does not compromise driving performance, style, and comfort. European-influenced C-MAX is loaded with advanced technology designed for a fun-to-drive experience so you can maximize every ride. There are some noteworthy hybrids in this niche-orientated segment but the 2016 Ford C-MAX's European roots give it refined driving characteristics, sleek design, well-dressed interior, and advance tech features continue to make it a standout.
2016 C-MAX Design and Performance
The C-MAX is engineered to be fun behind the wheel and light-on-the-gas tank. Driving the vehicle won't feel like a penalty box because of attention to detail of how the suspension is tuned for responsive handling and a refined ride. The hybrid system is praiseworthy because of its impressive fuel economy numbers. Acceleration is strong for a smooth transition from city limits to highway speed similar to that of conventional gasoline wagons. The cabin will have a similar feel to Ford's Focus or Escape. Ford's 2016 C-MAX incorporates top-notch materials, solid construction, striking design, and a high-mounted driver seat gives you a commanding view. The architectural acoustics allow for a quiet ride but an enjoyable one with the nine-speaker Sony sound system. Communicative steering is another strong point from Ford.
2016 C-MAX Engine and Transmission
Ford C-MAX Hybrid offers 188 combined horsepower plus hybrid efficiency to maximize every ride. The powertrain uses an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT), combining power from the engine and electric motor to deliver power to the wheels when you accelerate, eliminating upshifts and downshifts. Great advantages come with owning a C-MAX Hybrid, such as battery-recharging and the power-split hybrid architecture. This allows the high-voltage battery and the 2.0 L I-4 Atkinson-cycle gasoline-powered engines to work together or separately using the motor and generator to help maximize the vehicle's efficiency.
2016 C-MAX Models and Trims
The C-MAX is available in three trim levels: C-MAX Hybrid SE, C-MAX Hybrid SEL, and the plug-in C-MAX Engeri.
C-MAX Hybrid SE
A 2.0L I-4 Atkinson-cycle engine with an electric motor boasts 188 horsepower. The Next-Generation SmartGauge with EcoGuide provides real-time information to help you maximize your driving and vehicle's efficiency. SYNC (voice-activated, in-vehicle communications and entertainment system) with MyFord voice command system, Bluetooth capability, smartphone app integration and a six-speaker sound system with a CD player, an auxiliary audio jack and a USB interface ensures an entertaining ride.
C-MAX Hybrid SEL
The features in the C-MAX SE come standard in the SEL trim in addition to power liftgate, navigation system, push button start, rain sensing wipers, heated front seats, reverse sensing system, and ambient lighting.
The main difference between C-MAX Hybrid and C-MAX Energi is the plug-in capability. C-MAX Energi has an external charge port and a larger advanced lithium-ion battery for an all-electric driving experience. The vehicle can fully charge overnight, using the standard 120-volt convenience cord, or in 2.5 hours*, using the available AeroVironment 240-volt home charging station. C-MAX Energi utilizes a lithium-ion battery and electric motor with a gasoline engine.
